The Speaker begins the process of forming a government

Riksdag notice of 17 September 2026, 14.41, stating that Speaker Andreas Norlén had that day received Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's request to be dismissed and was therefore beginning the task of producing a proposal for a new prime minister. The Speaker would hold individual talks with representatives of the Riksdag parties on Friday 18 September, with the times of those meetings to be announced later.
