Voter registration

The process of entering an eligible person on the roll — automatic, state-initiated or voter-initiated, and the choice shapes turnout more than most campaign spending.

Voter purge

The removal of names from the roll — necessary maintenance when it removes the deceased and relocated, disenfranchisement when it removes eligible voters.

Roll inflation

A register containing more names than eligible voters, usually through failure to remove the deceased or emigrated — it enables fraud narratives whether or not it enables fraud.
