Official results for the 2023 General Election

The Commission declared the official result of the general election held on 14 October 2023: 2,883,412 votes cast, 78.2% turnout of enrolled electors, 603,257 special votes (20.9% of the total) and a final enrolment rate of 94.7%. On the party vote National took 1,085,016 votes (38.06%) and 48 of 122 seats, Labour 767,236 (26.91%) and 34, the Greens 330,883 (11.60%) and 15, ACT 246,409 (8.64%) and 11, New Zealand First 173,425 (6.08%) and 8, and Te Pati Maori 87,973 (3.08%) and 6 with a two-seat overhang. Four electorate results changed from election night: Rachel Boyack (Labour) won Nelson by 29 votes, Phil Twyford (Labour) won Te Atatu by 131, Takutai Tarsh Kemp (Te Pati Maori) won Tamaki Makaurau by 4, and Mariameno Kapa-Kingi (Te Pati Maori) won Te Tai Tokerau by 517.
