Election Results and Allocation of Seats in Parliament (National Assembly) and Provincial Legislatures: 2024

A tabulation of the Electoral Commission's declared 2024 result against 2019, party by party, for the National Assembly and all nine provincial legislatures. It records ANC 159 seats on 40.18% against 230 on 57.50% in 2019, DA 87 on 21.8%, MK 58 on 14.59%, EFF 39 on 9.52% and IFP 17 on 3.85%, with 18 parties and no independent candidates represented in the seventh Parliament. It notes that the ANC retained provincial majorities only in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West, that MK took a plurality in KwaZulu-Natal on 45.35%, and that 52 parties contested the national ballot against 48 in 2019.
