Medvedev named the top five with which United Russia will go into the State Duma election

RIA Novosti reports that United Russia chairman Dmitry Medvedev announced at the party's 23rd congress in Moscow on 28 June 2026 the five candidates heading the federal part of its list for the State Duma election: Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who heads the list, Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin, war correspondent Yevgeny Poddubny, children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova and Vladislav Golovin, head of the main staff of the Yunarmiya youth movement. It explains that the federal part of a list may include up to 15 people but only the first five names are printed on the ballot.
