OSCE/ODIHR not invited to monitor State Duma elections — diplomat

TASS reports that Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on 27 August 2026 that OSCE/ODIHR would not take part in monitoring the September State Duma elections, describing it as a structure known for double standards and a tool of hypocrisy. She said Russia fully met its obligations under the 1990 Copenhagen Document by having invited a number of international organisations and structures, as well as individual OSCE states, to observe, and that Moscow continues to advocate the joint development of universal standards for international election observation.
