Several votes from Simrishamn municipality will not be counted in the election result

Municipal notice of 23 September 2026 stating that a box of advance votes was left out of the Wednesday collection count. Polling staff had sealed the boxes of advance ballots and kept them in a secure archive, but missed one box during the count; it was taken to the county administrative board once the mistake was discovered, but too late for the votes to be added. The box contains 117 votes, which will not be counted in the results for the Riksdag, regional or municipal elections. The chair of the municipal election committee, Matts Karlsson, calls it an unfortunate human error and apologises.
