Preliminary result of the Riksdag election completed

Press release of 17 September 2026 announcing that the municipal election committees had finished their collection count for the Riksdag, giving an updated preliminary result with a turnout of 84.8 per cent. Compared with election night the Left Party gained one seat and the Social Democrats lost one; the rest of the preliminary distribution was unchanged: Social Democrats 99, Moderates 70, Sweden Democrats 62, Left Party 30, Centre Party 25, Christian Democrats 22, Green Party 22 and Liberals 19. It explains that in the final count the county administrative boards examine and check every vote again, including the votes for all registered parties and the personal votes, and that the result can still be updated until the Authority certifies it, usually about a week after election day.
