United Russia secures constitutional majority in State Duma with 355 seats as election officials report 59% turnout

Meduza reports, quoting Interfax, the preliminary results announced by Central Election Commission chair Ella Pamfilova on 21 September 2026. With 95.18 per cent of precinct results counted, United Russia had 57.83 per cent of the party-list vote, the Communist Party 13.81, LDPR 8.98, New People 7.96 and A Just Russia 4.96 per cent, which Pamfilova said had a good chance of clearing the 5 per cent threshold. In single-member districts United Russia candidates led in 208 of 225 races, the Communist Party in five, A Just Russia and independents in four each, LDPR in two and Rodina in one. On that count Pamfilova projected 355 seats for United Russia, 40 for the Communist Party, 25 for LDPR, 20 for New People and four for A Just Russia, with turnout at 59.32 per cent.
