Analysts describe an anomalous surge in votes for A Just Russia that allowed it to clear the five per cent threshold

Novaya Gazeta Europe reports on 22 September 2026 that electoral analyst Stanislav Andreychuk said on Carnegie Politika that about 60,000 votes for A Just Russia appeared in the Central Election Commission's system within an hour during the count on 21 September, and that an anonymous analyst for the channel 'Elections in Detail' put the increase at 67,330 votes between 13:29 and 14:29 Moscow time. After 95.16 per cent of protocols the party had 4.96 per cent. Andreychuk regards the increase as a coordinated decision unrelated to how people actually voted, describing it as a single phone call after which the figure was rewritten.
