Freedom on the Net 2024: Argentina country report

Covering June 2023 to May 2024, the report scores Argentina 71 out of 100, down from 73, and finds that the 2023 presidential election featured an unprecedented degree of online content manipulation including deepfakes. It states that Milei and Massa and their supporters deployed false and misleading content generated by artificial intelligence to discredit each other, and that after the first round Milei and supporters of his party used digital platforms to spread baseless allegations of electoral fraud. It records no foreign state involvement.
