Port Waikato by-election official results

The Commission released the official result of the 25 November 2023 Port Waikato by-election, held because a candidate died during the general election. Andrew Bayly (National) won 14,296 of 18,728 candidate votes, a majority of 11,432, ahead of Casey Costello (New Zealand First) on 2,864. Turnout was 35.9% of 52,470 enrolled electors, with 18,815 votes cast including 87 disallowed, and 12,510 votes (66.7%) cast in advance. Because Bayly was already a National list MP, his move to the electorate seat brought the next list candidate into Parliament and took the total number of seats to 123.
