Documents show: three suspects in investigation into electoral fraud in Borlänge

SVT report of 23 September 2026 based on documents from the Swedish Prosecution Authority. After an anonymous tip, police surveillance material was presented to the National Anti-Corruption Unit on 1 September and a preliminary investigation into improper influence at voting was opened; it was closed on 8 September because of evidentiary problems and reopened on 21 September on the stated ground that new circumstances warranted it. Two people were suspected at first and a third was added when the investigation was reopened; all three identities are withheld in the documents. Prosecutor Oskar Edvardsson says that no one has been notified of suspicion and declines to say whether anyone is suspected.
