The Gambia 2026 Presidential Election
Nominations run from 26 October to 6 November, campaigning from 10 November to 3 December, and the withdrawal deadline is 27 November.
The Gambia elects its president using the country's distinctive marble-and-drum ballot system. The Independent Electoral Commission has published a detailed calendar, while the 2021 EU observer mission provides a concrete reform baseline for the legal framework, campaign and media environment.
What to watch

Scheduled dates come from national election authorities and are linked above. Dates can move; where one is not yet fixed by decree it is marked as expected rather than confirmed. Listing an election here is not a prediction that anything improper will occur — it is a statement about what would be worth checking if it did.
