The Constitutional Court's Honorary Council found Chief Justice Anwar Usman had committed a grave breach of the code of ethics and conduct of constitutional judges in connection with Decision 90/PUU-XXI/2023, across the principles of impartiality, integrity, competence and equality, independence, and propriety. It removed him from the office of Chief Justice, barred him from standing for court leadership for the remainder of his judicial term and from taking part in presidential, legislative or regional election result disputes carrying a conflict of interest. Council member Bintan R. Saragih dissented, arguing that a grave breach admits only dishonourable discharge.
