HH to Be Sworn In September 1, 2026

The state broadcaster reports a statement by Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa that the seven-day period for filing a petition challenging the presidential election expired without the judiciary receiving any petition, and that the swearing-in of president-elect Hakainde Hichilema would therefore proceed under Article 105 of the Constitution on Tuesday 1 September 2026.
