The Constitutional Council validated the 9 October 2024 general election and proclaimed Daniel Chapo president with 4,416,306 votes (65.17 per cent) against Venâncio Mondlane's 1,639,333 (24.19 per cent), Ossufo Momade's 448,738 (6.62 per cent) and Lutero Simango's 272,736 (4.02 per cent), on 6,777,113 valid votes cast by 7,238,027 voters out of 17,169,239 registered. It partially invalidated the electoral commission's provisional results (Deliberação 105/CNE/2024) for Maputo City and the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Tete, Zambézia and Nampula, finding that district-level tabulation was where the figures had been inflated, but declined to order a ballot recount and concluded that the irregularities did not substantially influence the outcome. Its seat tables allocate 171 of 250 Assembleia da República seats to FRELIMO, 43 to PODEMOS, 28 to RENAMO and 8 to MDM, and it proclaims FRELIMO heads of list as governors in all ten provinces. The file published by the Council is a 38-page scan with no text layer, so re-verification requires reading the page images; its filename carries the process number, 50/CC/2024, rather than the acórdão number.
