Count rigging and early-voting rigging are all just conspiracy: a look inside the election fraud claims

Hankook Ilbo · January 25, 2025

A fact check of the six main South Korean election fraud claims. It reports that the Supreme Court dismissed all 126 election nullification suits brought over the 2020 National Assembly election as unproven, that the 'cabbage leaf' ballots, on which the blue proportional representation ballot had been printed twice over, were held by the Supreme Court to be minor mistakes and simple mechanical errors that could not be evidence of fraud changing an outcome, that early and election-day voters are different populations rather than random samples so their differing party splits are not a statistical anomaly, that ballot counts exceeding ballots issued reflect ballots mixed between voting areas during tabulation, and that United States Forces Korea issued a statement calling the descriptions of and claims about the United States military in reports of Chinese hackers arrested at the NEC training centre 'entirely false', the centre's record for that night accounting for 96 people staying there, 88 public officials on promotion and posting courses and eight external auditors. It also notes the hand-verification step added to counting from the 2024 elections.
