Accountability
Transparency
Who runs this, how it is funded, and how mistakes are handled.
Funding & independence
The project takes no funding from political parties, candidates, campaigns, or governments. Its independence is structural: there is no advertiser, sponsor, or owner whose interests a finding could threaten.
Every edit is public
The content is stored in a public version-controlled repository. Every addition and correction is timestamped and attributable to a change, and every page links its own edit history. The Updates page turns that history into a plain changelog — what was added, what was revised, and when — so the record is legible without reading commits. There is no private editorial trail.
Open by construction
Everything here is reusable. Structured exports and a read-only JSON API publish the whole corpus under CC BY 4.0, an RSS feed carries each publication as it happens, and the site is rebuilt daily so anything time-sensitive — countdowns, recency markers — stays accurate rather than frozen at the last edit.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it in the open and record what changed. Organizations or individuals named in a finding can submit a response, which is linked from the relevant page.
Your privacy
We keep measurement minimal and disclosed. Vercel Web Analytics is cookieless and aggregate — no cookies, no personal profiles — and runs for everyone. Google Analytics 4 is not contacted until you accept the consent banner. If you accept, analytics storage is enabled while advertising storage and personalization remain disabled. We run no advertising and sell no data. Theme, language, your consent choice, the countries you follow, and the date of your last visit are stored only in your own browser — never sent to us, and never used to identify you.
