Three deputies forced to resign after being declared ineligible by the Constitutional Council

The National Assembly's parliamentary channel reports that on 11 July 2025 the Constitutional Council declared three deputies elected in July 2024 ineligible for one year and removed them from office, on referral by the campaign-finance commission: Jean Laussucq (Paris, 2nd constituency), whose financial agent paid expenses from a personal account and third parties paid a significant share of expenses directly; Stéphane Vojetta (5th constituency for French residents abroad), a substantial part of whose expenses, 7,224 euros or 37 per cent, was paid irregularly; and Brigitte Barèges (Tarn-et-Garonne, 1st constituency), who received an in-kind contribution of 1,415 euros in municipal staff time from the town of Montauban. By-elections were required in all three constituencies.
