Voter purge
Definition
The removal of names from the roll — necessary maintenance when it removes the deceased and relocated, disenfranchisement when it removes eligible voters.

The official register of eligible voters — its accuracy sets the ceiling on election quality, and both inflation and wrongful removal are integrity failures.
Disenfranchisement
The loss or denial of voting rights, whether by law, administration or obstruction — its effect is measurable regardless of whether the intent can be shown.
Provisional ballot
A ballot cast when eligibility cannot be confirmed at the polling place, counted only once eligibility is verified — a safeguard against wrongful turn-away.
