ANFREL's interim statement two days after the vote records at least 1,867 vote-counting machines or related SD cards reported as failing on election day, affecting roughly 1.76% of precincts, with some voters in the National Capital Region queueing more than 12 hours. It also documents vote-buying reported at 100 to 2,000 pesos per voter, inadequate ballot privacy in over half of observed precincts, and 21 suspected election-related incidents on election day in which six people died.
