Illegitimate foreign influence operations targeting the upcoming German federal election

Germany's domestic intelligence service warned that disinformation operations, cyber-attacks, espionage and sabotage were viable options for foreign actors seeking to influence the 23 February 2025 federal election, noted that Russia's escalation with the West increased its motivation to target the vote, and installed a dedicated taskforce with national and international partners to safeguard the election.
