DRAGONBRIDGE / Spamouflage Taiwan 2024 Campaign
Spamouflage Dragon · DRAGONBRIDGE
A PRC-linked network surged around Taiwan's 13 January 2024 election with thousands of videos and comments, synthetic audio and AI-generated presenters, including material targeting outgoing president Tsai Ing-wen and urging voters not to support the Democratic Progressive Party.
Scale did not equal reach. Google reported that the election campaign gained practically no organic engagement and that engagement elsewhere in the network was overwhelmingly inauthentic. This case is useful as a documented technique precedent—high-volume, cross-platform synthetic content—not evidence that the content persuaded voters or affected the official result.
