Claim

Unsupported

Foreign interference and disinformation invalidated Romania's 2025 presidential runoff.

Reviewed July 26, 2026

Verdict

George Simion raised this claim in a challenge seeking annulment of the 18 May runoff. The Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed the complaint as unfounded and validated Nicușor Dan's election. ODIHR recorded online manipulation concerns during the campaign, but those findings do not establish that the certified result was invalid.
