Analysis of the 26 September 2021 Bundestag election, in which the SPD (25.7%) narrowly overtook the CDU/CSU (24.1%), ahead of the Greens (14.8%), FDP (11.5%) and AfD (10.3%) on 76.4% turnout, leading to a Scholz-led coalition.
