European Parliament resolution of 28 November 2024 on Georgia's worsening democratic crisis following the recent parliamentary elections and alleged electoral fraud

Adopted by 444 votes to 72 with 82 abstentions. Held that the 26 October 2024 elections did not respect international standards for democratic elections or Georgia's OSCE commitments, rejected the announced result, and called for a re-run within one year under international supervision and an independent election administration. Called on the EU and member states to impose personal sanctions on named officials including the prime minister and the ruling party's founder, and condemned Russian disinformation targeting the campaign. It is a political act of the European Parliament, not a judicial finding, and no Georgian court accepted a challenge to the result.
