Carter Center Statement on Venezuela Election

The Carter Center · July 30, 2024

The Carter Center's technical observation mission concluded that Venezuela's 28 July 2024 presidential election did not meet international standards of electoral integrity and cannot be considered democratic: the CNE demonstrated clear bias in favour of the incumbent, and its failure to announce disaggregated results by polling station constitutes a serious breach of electoral principles.
