Official results of the court-ordered 23 June 2020 fresh presidential election: Lazarus Chakwera (MCP, Tonse Alliance) 2,604,043 votes — declared 58.57% and duly elected; Peter Mutharika (DPP) 1,751,877; Peter Kuwani (MMD) 32,456. Turnout 64.81% of 6,859,570 registered voters; 57,323 null and void votes (1.29%).
