Peter Mutharika
President of Malawi from 2014. His declared re-election of May 2019 was nullified by the Constitutional Court on 3 February 2020 — the 'Tipp-Ex election', named for correction fluid found on result sheets — and upheld on appeal by the Supreme Court. He lost the court-ordered fresh election of June 2020 to Lazarus Chakwera, then returned to win the presidency again in 2025.

Lost the 23 June 2020 fresh election with 1,751,877 votes. Hours before the declaration he called the rerun 'the worst in Malawi's history', alleging violence against his party's monitors; the DPP asked the commission to annul the rerun and call a third vote, which it did not.
