Report of the independent international fact-finding mission on the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (A/HRC/57/CRP.5)

UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission on Venezuela · September 2024

The UN mission documented that the CNE proclaimed Maduro without publishing results disaggregated by polling station as Venezuelan law requires; that a UN panel of electoral experts found the CNE's results management 'fell short of the basic transparency and integrity measures that are essential to holding credible elections'; and that post-election protests met with violent repression, including 25 deaths and mass arrests under 'Operation Tun Tun'.
