The Constitutional Council rejected challenges to the rapid timetable for the 2024 snap legislative election, brought against décret n° 2024-527 of 9 June 2024 convening the electorate. It held that the dissolution took effect the same day it was decreed and that scheduling the first round for 30 June — 29 June by derogation overseas — implemented Article 12 without breaching it. On the freedom-and-sincerity-of-the-vote ground it did not rule on the merits: because the decree's sole object was to fix the polling date, the Council set that ground aside as inoperative.
